Week 13 A Lose-Lose Situation

The Bears lost more than just another football game yesterday to the Chiefs. Early in the first quarter star running back Matt Forte took a hand off from Caleb Hanie off of left tackle and took a shoulder pad directly to the right knee from Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson. It was obvious that Forte was hurt when the camera panned to him clutching his right knee. Its just another setback for an offense that has had it’s share of ups and downs this season, but this most recent injury has the offense at a new low.
The Bears eventually lost to the unimpressive Chiefs 10-3. The only touchdown coming off of a hail mary from Tyler Palko to Dexter McCluster as time expired in the first half. It seemed as the Bears had the play covered well until safety Victor Conte swatted the ball away from teammate Brian Urlacher and right into McCluster’s hands. Just another unlucky play in a season which has turned out to be as unlucky as any I can remember.
Next up for the Bears are the streaking Broncos, who have won their last 5 games behind the incredible leadership of quarterback Tim Tebow. The Bears are known for their stout run defense and ability to shut down running quarterbacks but Tebow is a much more physical running quarterback that should not be underestimated. Next week is shaping up to be a must win game with just 4 games remaining and 2 of those being against division rivals Minnesota and the undefeated Packers. One thing is for sure, if the Bears are going to win next week they are going to have to get better play from their entire offense because the defense and special teams can’t do it without them. So now without Jay Cutler and Matt Forte, the Bears have their backs to the wall in need of someone to step up. Lets see who will.
